Qualche Domanda

Dopo le dichiarazioni del Papa in Brasile e la strenua difesa della famiglia tradizionale con il supporto dato al Family Day, forse il Papa Joseph Ratzinger vorrebbe darci qualche spiegazione su un altro documento pertinente ai bambini da lui applicato per conto del Vaticano per almeno 20 anni.

Il Crimen Sollicitationis è un documento scritto un Latino nel 1962, e distribuito ai vescovi nel mondo con l'ordine di tenerlo chiuso a chiave. Da degli ordini sul comportamento da adottare nei casi di preti accusati di aver abusato sessualmente dei bambini. Il documento è stato per tanti anni custodito in gran segreto per arrivare all'attenzione del mondo nel 2001 dopo una lettera dell'allora Cardinale Joseph Ratzinger ai vescovi.

Tra gli ordini, quello di imporre il silenzio al bambino abusato, pena la scommunica. Oltre al prete accusato e ad eventuali testimoni.

Numerosi tentativi di avere una dichiarazione dal Vaticano in merito sono sempre stati accolti con un muro di silenzio totale.

In qualsiasi momento il Papa è libero di ritirare il documento, e cambiare la linea della Chiesa verso una totale e trasparente collaborazione con le forze dell'ordine e i legali dei minori muovano l'accusa. After the declarations made by the Pope in Brasil and the hefty defence of the traditional family and support of the Family Day by the Vatican, perhaps Pope Ratzinger would like to offer a few explanations regarding a document which affects the Church's dealings with certain children, enforced by him as Cardinal for 20 years.

Crimen Sollicitationis is a document written in Latin in 1962 and sent to Bishops around the world with the order to keep it locked up in their safes. It gives orders on the procedure to adopt in cases of accusations against the clergy of child abuse. The document remained secret for many years before being leaked after a 2001 letter from Cardinal Ratzinger to the Bishops.

Among the instructions it gives is that of imposing silence on the abused child, on pain of excommunication. This also applies to the accused priest and to any witnesses.

Numerous attempts to obtain a declaration from the Vatican regarding this document have all met with stony silence.

At any moment the Pope is free to withdraw the document, and change the Church's line to one of total transparency and collaboration with the police and the lawyers of the minor making the accusation.
